Haven means a place of safety or refuge. Our vision embodies the idea that everyone’s home should be a haven no matter the size, location, or aesthetic. Whether designing a client’s primary home or vacation oasis, we bring our passion for design and client service to each and every project. This leads to a fresh and timeless style that balances approachability with sophistication and results in places that feel both inviting and inspiring.
Studio Haven Interiors has a proven portfolio of small to large residential projects encompassing Michigan, California, and Florida. No project is out of our scope or reach and we pride ourselves on our ability to provide a high level of customization to meet each client’s needs.
Laurel McAteer
OWNER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
While Laurel’s original path was a Corporate one, she always knew her creative energy needed to be a part of her everyday life and career. While designing her own home and growing her family, she branched out into the home design space by developing her skills with one of the Bay Area’s premiere Building Design firms, authoring a remodeling toolkit named “My Home Remodeling Planner,” and finally launching her own residential interior design firm in 2013.
Laurel’s design aesthetic is rooted in her love for the “coast”– both the salted and unsalted kind. Her Michigan roots, followed by many years in the San Francisco Bay Area, allowed her to combine this aesthetic into the perfect mix of down-to-earth Midwestern lake life with California casual living.
As the business has grown, so have the locations that we serve. Our expansion into Chicago, Florida, and beyond has allowed us to use our versatile design skills in many styles, regions, and scopes. However, Laurel’s California background has and always will influence our design work through a fresh and timeless sense of coastal style.
